Usage notes

• The first definition of this adjective is far more commonly found in the feminine form embarazada. However, by convention, Spanish dictionaries give the masculine form of adjectives as the base form, hence it appears as such in this dictionary.
• Embarazado is a false friend, and does not mean embarrassed. The Spanish word for embarrassed is avergonzado.
