## English[edit]

### Etymology[edit]

From the concept of dividing a group of objects into subgroups of even (that is, the same) size.

### Adjective[edit]

**evenly divisible** (*not comparable*)

- (arithmetic) Leaving no remainder when divided by.
*15 is***evenly divisible**by 3, but 16 isn't.

#### Usage notes[edit]

- This is a commonly used combination, but "evenly" is actually unnecessary, because it does not change the meaning of the word "divisible":
*15 is***divisible**by 3, but 16 isn't.
