From Proto-Turkic *gǖč [1]. Cognate with Old Turkic 𐰚𐰇𐰲(küč, strength) [2], Karakhanid کُجْ(küč, force, strength, power) [3], Turkish güç, Kazakh күш (küş), Kyrgyz күч (küç), Uzbek kuch, Bashkir көс (kös), Shor кӱш (force), etc.
