Albanian

Etymology

From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Albanian *gat-, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *gwem- (to go). Cognate to Sanskrit गति (gáti-, going, course), Proto-Slavic *gatь (cf. Russian гать (gatʹ, road of brushwood, weir)). Related to ngas.[1] Compare also the related Romanian gata (ready), which is also an invariable adjective.
