- (Netherlands, colloquial) Used to express a feeling of mild satisfaction and/or mild relief about having concluded a certain task or activity, or about a certain condition, event, or part of the day having come to an end; used to mark a transition from a state of being active or vexed to a state of relative rest and peace of mind.
- Hèhè, we zijn eindelijk thuis. ― Glad we're home at last.
- Hèhè, het is weer droog. ― Finally, it stopped raining.
- Hèhè, even zitten. ― It's nice to put my feet up.
- Ik heb eindelijk nieuwe schoenen gekocht. – Zo, hèhè! ― I finally bought new shoes. – About time too!

- Van het gesprek over de Nederlander en zijn identiteit, dat vorig jaar door Nederland rumoerde, is me één bijdrage in het bijzonder bijgebleven.
