have the time (third-person singular simple present has the time, present participle having the time, simple past and past participle had the time)

  1. (intransitive) To be available, to have nothing more important to do.
    I'll finish my book when I have the time.
    I can't do it yet, I don't have the time.
  2. (intransitive) To know the current time, or be able to consult a device which does.
    Hey, do you have the time? I think I'm late for work.
