From Proto-Albanian *skeuda, from Proto-Indo-European *(s)kewd- Compare Proto-Germanic *skeutaną (whence German schießen (to shoot), English shoot), Sanskrit चोदति (códati, to incite), Russian кида́ть (kidátʹ, id), Lithuanian skudrùs (id).[1]
