- US standard spelling of hoodmould.
- 1886, Robert Willis, The Architectural History of the University of Cambridge, and of the Colleges of Cambridge and Eton, page 749:
- ... was made to give a Gothic character to it by inserting windows of four lights, pointed, subdivided by a transom, and with a hoodmold over them, into the openings of the original sashes; and by adding a porch on the west side.
