Etymology

(deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old English īsceald, corresponding to ice +‎ cold. Cognate with Dutch ijskoud, Afrikaans yskoud, German eiskalt, West Frisian iiskâld, Saterland Frisian ieskoold, Swedish iskall, Danish iskold, Norwegian iskald, Icelandic ískaldur and Faroese ísakaldur.
