incommensuration (plural incommensurations)

  1. The quality or state of being incommensurate or contradictory.
  2. (minerology) A crystal structure where natural translation distances are incommensurate with each other.
  3. (physics) Incommensurate peaks in the spin fluctuation spectrum.
