Etymology

First attested circa 17th century, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Lua error in Module:parameters at line 229: Parameter 1 should be a valid language code; the value "LL." is not valid. See WT:LOL. inconspicuus, from in-, "not" + (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Latin conspicuus, "conspicuous." Modern sense of "not easily noticeable" is from 1828.
