Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Cariban *jôtɨpô. By surface analysis, je (“tooth”) + -`po (uncontrolledly or formerly possessed suffix).

- bone
- fishbone
- hard piece of liana left over and discarded after scraping away the outer bark and sapwood (which are used as medicine)
