     Tằm ươm lúc nhúc thuyền đầu bãi.
     Hàu chất so le khóm cuối làng.

     The thread-pulling silkworms wriggle on the boats next to the wharf;
     The oysters are stacked unevenly into heaps at the village's farthest corner.

     Quỉ dắc Thập tới bên sông Nại-hà, thấy người ta lúc nhúc dưới sông như giòi, còn nước thì thâm đen mà đục ngàu, lại gần thúi tha chịu không nổi.

     As the demon led Thập to near the River of the Dead, he saw people in the river writhed like maggots, the water there was black and murky, and the stench was unbearable as they was drawing nearer.
