Etymology[edit]

Borrowing from French lambdoïde, from the New Latin lambdoīdēs, from the Ancient Greek λαβδοειδής (labdoeidḗs).

The lambdoid suture, a joint on the skull named for the resemblence of its indentations to the letter lambda (Greek uc lamda.png).
