English

Noun

lassu (plural lassus)

  1. Archaic form of lasso.
    • 1824, Edward Hibbet, Narrative of a Journey from Santiago de Chile to Buenos Ayres in July and August, 1821:
Whenever we came to a post-house, the troop of horses took to the yard instinctively, and each man seized a lassu and caught his own. The lassu is a long rope, attached at one end to the saddle, with a slip knot at the other.
