light clay (uncountable)

  1. (ceramics) Straw-clay, a mixture of straw with a dressing of dilute liquid clay or clay slip. This natural material, making use of an agricultural by-product with an abundant component of soil, has good insulating qualities but is not suitable for load-bearing structural elements.
