[edit]Inherited from Middle Welsh llygat, from Old Welsh licat, from Proto-Brythonic *llugad, from Proto-Indo-European *lewk- (“to see”). Cognate with Cornish lagas (“eye”), Breton lagad (“eye”), Sanskrit लोचन (locana, “eye”)
