Etymology

From French margarique (in acide margarique), ultimately from Ancient Greek μάργαρον (márgaron, pearl).

margaric (comparative more margaric, superlative most margaric)

  1. Pertaining to pearl or pearls (rare except in the designation of margaric acid)
