Etymology

From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] New Latin, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek μασητήρ (masētḗr, a chewer, a muscle of the lower jaw used in chewing), from μασᾶσθαι (masâsthai, to chew). Compare French masséter.
