From Old Spanish merendar, from (rare) Lua error in Module:parameters at line 95: Parameter 2 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "LL" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E., from Classical Latin merenda (luncheon taken around tea-time), from mereō (I earn, deserve).
