Prefix

mit-

  1. a prefix of nearly unlimited productivity, expressing that something is done together with others who do the same thing, sometimes equivalent to English co- or along.
    mit- + ‎tanzen (to dance) → ‎mittanzen (to dance with others, to join others in dancing, to dance along)

  • Chiefly used in verbs or nouns derived from verbs; occasionally also in original nouns (compare Mitbruder).
