From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Latin myosōtis (plant with leaves like a mouse's ears), from Koine (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek μυοσωτίς (muosōtís), from genitive form of (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek μῦς (mûs, mouse) + nominative plural form of οὖς (oûs, ear).

Etymology

Borrowed from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Latin myosotis, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek μυοσωτίς (muosōtís, mouse's ear; forget-me-not). It is so named because the shape of the petals resembles that of a mouse's ear.
