nearside (plural nearsides)

  1. (British) The side of a road vehicle nearest to the kerb: the left side if one drives on the left of the road.
  2. (astronomy) The face of the Moon nearest the Earth.
  3. (US, historical) A streetcar designed to discharge passengers on the near side of an intersection, rather than the far side.
