Adjective[edit]

ningún m (apocopate, standard form ninguno)

Usage notes[edit]

The form ningún is an adjective, which is only used before and in the noun phrase of the modified masculine singular noun. When the usage is pronominal (like the English word none), the pronoun ninguno is used instead. As other forms in Spanish, it admits double negation. Compare:

No tengo ningún amigo.I don't have any friends.

and

No tengo ninguno.I have none.
