From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Latin nymphaea, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek νυμφαῖα (numphaîa), feminine singular form of νυμφαῖος (numphaîos, sacred to the nymphs), from νύμφη (númphē, nymph).
