Etymology[edit]

Derived from Ancient Greek οἶκος (oîkos) + φόβος (phóbos). In Polish the term is used exclusively in the political context and in this sense it was borrowed from English oikophobia, a term coined by English philosopher and writer Roger Scruton in 2004.
