Etymology

In reference to the fact that Perth has a large South African Australian community (likely due to its closer proximity to Africa than the rest of Australia). The initialism of this phrase is "PFP", which was also used as an abbreviation for the Progressive Federal Party, a liberal and anti-apartheid political party that existed from 1977 until 1989 that drew the majority of its support from White South Africans who spoke English as their first language.[1]
