- Identification of parasiloxanthin and its derivative 7,8-dihydroparasiloxanthin, as well as 3'-epilutein and monadoxanthin, are worthy of notice. These carotenoids, except for 3'-epilutein, have hitherto been found in few species and only on the Japanese islands.
