pill popper (plural pill poppers)

  1. A syringe-like device for administering medicinal pills to animals.
    Synonym: pill gun
  2. (informal, humorous) A person who enjoys or frequently takes medication in pill form.
    Well, you know, once Pop got into his sixties, he came to be a bit of a pill popper, what with the blood pressure and the blood sugar and the cholesterol and the arthritis.
  3. (informal, often derogatory) A person who frequently takes any other kind of pill, such as vitamins or illicit drugs.
    It's great when people are enthusiastic about health and wellness, but you just have to watch out for how hard the vitamin people sell you on the pricey supplements — they'll try to turn you into a pill popper.
