From being a wall with a fixed rope to assist in overcoming the obstacle

rope wall (plural rope walls)

  1. A type of wall obstacle in an obstacle course with a flat straight vertical wall and a rope that is used to assist in climbing up the wall, and another rope to assist descending the reverse side of the wall.
