samkjafta (weak verb, third-person singular past indicative samkjaftaði, supine samkjaftað)

  1. (intransitive, always used with a negation) to shut up, to not talk nineteen to the dozen
    Strákurinn samkjaftaði ekki alla ferðina.
    The boy talk nineteen to the dozen the whole trip.
    Hún samkjaftar aldrei.
    She never shuts up.
  2. (intransitive) to close one's mouth
    Fiskurinn getur ekki samkjaftað.
    The fish can't close his mouth.
