Etymology

From Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "qfa-sub-ibe" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF. (compare Basque sasi, earlier çarzi). Alternatively, from Arabic شَرَا (šarā, plant with thorns), from سَارَاسَا (sārāsā, to be evil, vicious).[1]

Cognate with Asturian zarza, Spanish zarza, Ladino zarza.
