Etymology

[edit]

Borrowed from German Schwung. Derived from the verb schwingen (to swing), but may have caught on in several languages because it has an onomatopoeic quality to it.

Noun

[edit]

schvung c or n

  1. oomph, verve, pizzazz, go ((positive, vigorous) speed and energy)
Uppföljaren är rätt seg. Det behövs lite mer schvung som i originalet!
The sequel is pretty slow. Needs [it is needed] a bit more go like [in] the original!
