sea silk (countable and uncountable, plural sea silks)

  1. An extremely fine, rare and valuable fabric produced from the long silky filaments or byssus excreted by several molluscs (particularly Lua error in Module:parameters at line 828: Parameter "noshow" is not used by this template.) by which they attach themselves to the sea bed.
