Etymology[edit]

si- (modal) + -Ø- (3rd person subject prefix) + -Ø- (classifier)-tį́ (neuter perfective stem of root -TĮ́, “to lie — 1 actor”).

Verb[edit]

sitį́

  1. he/she is lying somewhere, is reclining

Usage notes[edit]

This stem is used for lying individually. For lying in pairs, see shitéézh. For lying in groups of 3 or more subjects, see shijééʼ.

Plural forms of this verb refer to several people lying independently one from another, not forming a group.

This is a neuter verb that uses only the perfective mode.
