  1. (historical) A black African or mulatto slave trader.
    • 1986, Terry Alford, Prince Among Slaves, page 23:
      An English slave trader who dealt with these slatees wrote on such subjects, "If they are captured that have been particularly active in wars — a King, Prince, or their sons — no price can purchase them."
