English[edit]

Etymology[edit]

spurge +‎ wort

Noun[edit]

spurgewort (plural spurgeworts)

  1. Any euphorbiaceous plant.
    • 1846-1853, John Lindley, The Vegetable Kingdom
There seems to be nothing in Putranjiva to distinguish it from a drupaceous Spurgewort. In general the structure of Spurgeworts is very uniform, and upon the whole there are few extensive Orders in which it is less liable to exceptions.
