Squalus (a genus of sharks) + Ancient Greek ὀδών (odṓn, tooth), alternative form of ὀδούς (odoús, tooth).


squalodon (plural squalodons)

  1. (paleontology) Any of a genus of extinct whales with serrated teeth, belonging to the Squalodontidae.
