Noun
[edit]steeple cab (plural steeple cabs)
- (rail transport) A centrally placed cab on some early electric locomotives.
- 1962 October, M.J. Wilson, “Three years of dieselisation at Devons Road depot”, in Modern Railways, page 265:
- All main line work is carried out by the Type 1s, whose principal design fault is offside "blindness", due to the position of the driving cab behind a long, high nose; a steeple cab would obviously be preferable.
