  1. Any of several vines of genus Vincetoxicum (syn Cynanchum), especially black swallowwort (Vincetoxicum nigrum, syn. Cynanchum nigrum) or white swallowwort (Vincetoxicum hirundinaria, syn. Cynanchum vincetoxicum)
  2. A tetterwort, Chelidonium majus or Sanguinaria canadensis.
  3. Any of various plants of the genus Asclepias.
  4. The plant Euphorbia maculata (spotted spurge).
