From thread +‎ -ed.

Adjective

[edit]

threaded (comparative more threaded, superlative most threaded)

  1. Having threads.
  2. (computing, not comparable) Of messages: arranged in a thread or threads.
    • 2025 January 31 (last accessed), Darlene Antonelli, “What is an Email Thread? Definition, Using Threads, & More”, in wikiHow[1]:
A threaded email will commonly have a number, (e.g., (5)) after the sender's name to show how many emails are in that thread. An unthreaded email, however, will not have that number marker because all the messages are listed separately.
  3. (computing, not comparable) Of messages in a digital forum conversation: displayed hierarchically (based on parent messages), rather than linearly (usually purely chronologically).
