1. (transitive) To strip of plumes or feathers.
   • 1841, Blackwood's Lady's Magazine, volume X, page 306:

     "If I unplume and unjewel my cap," said the youth, tearing off, as he spoke, the feather and brooch that were its ornaments, and dashing them to the earth, […]

2. (transitive, by extension) To humiliate.
