Etymology

From the old participal construction verhohlen and the prefix un-. The first word stems from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Middle High German verheln, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old High German firhelan. In this adjective the former conjugation as class 4 strong verb survives.
