Etymology

From Old Swedish ūtganger, from Old Norse útgangr, from Proto-Germanic *ūtgangaz. Equivalent to ut- +‎ gång.

     These will be the exits of the city: Beginning on the north side, which is 4,500 cubits long.

2. an act of going out (to some public place, for fun, for example a bar)

   Blir det utgång ikväll, eller stannar ni här?

   Are you going out tonight, or are you staying here?

3. (card games) A move which causes the player to finish, e.g. by exceeding a certain number of points.
