vocabulation (usually uncountable, plural vocabulations)

  1. The use of one's vocabulary; selection of words.
    • 1926, Ernest Martin Hopkins, Man and His Fellows: Lectures on the Henry La Barre Jayne Foundation, Academy of Music, Philadelphia, 1925, page 83:
      In no other way can we avoid as a people the attribute ascribed to one of the characters of a novel I once read : a man who was said to have "a mind not exactly intellectual but felicitous in vocabulation."
