Etymology

From earlier *kahi*kasi (still seen in κασίγνητος (kasígnētos, brother)) ← *kati, from Proto-Indo-European *ḱm̥t-, from *ḱóm (with). Compare Hittite [script needed] (kat-ti, along with).[1]
