flight risk (usually uncountable, plural flight risks)

  1. (law, uncountable) The possibility that a person under the custody of law enforcement will abscond if granted bail.
    The court took flight risk into consideration when deciding bail for Mr Smith.
  2. (law, countable) A person who is considered likely to abscond.
    The court refused to grant Mr Smith bail as he was considered a flight risk.
