Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Sino-Tibetan. Cognate with Burmese (ra., get, must), Tibetan རག་པ (rag pa, get, rely on), Tangut 𘜘 (*rjir¹, get, gain), and Nuosu (wep, get). Compare with Lhao Vo qo" , Zaiwa wo, and Longchuan Achang ʐua³⁵.
