[edit]Learnedly, from the accusative singular ὁρίζοντα (horízonta) of the Ancient Greek ὁρίζων (horízōn)[1] (ὁρίζων κύκλος (kúklos), demarcating cycle)[2] Substantivised neuter of the active participle ορίζων (orízon) of verb ορίζω (orízō, “define”) -ancient: ὁρίζω (horízō).
