Etymology[edit]

From Arabic عَذَاب (ʕaḏāb), probably via Persian عذاب ('azâb). Cognate with Bashkir ғазап (ğazap), Turkish azap, Kyrgyz азап (azap), Tatar газап (ğazap), Uzbek azob, etc.
